A South Dakota man has his lost wallet returned with some extra cash thanks to a stranger.
Hunter Shamatt thought he’d never seen the wallet again when he lost it on a flight to Las Vegas for his sister’s wedding. Inside was $60 cash and a check for about $400.
Shamatt said he received a package to his home a few days later containing the wallet and a letter from the man who found it.
The stranger wrote that he found the wallet stuck between the seat and the wall of the plane on a flight from Omaha to Denver. He added $40 of his own money so that Shamatt would have “an even $100” to celebrate the return of the wallet.
“Hunter. Found this on the Frontier flight from Omaha to Denver, row 12 seat F, wedged between the seat and the wall. Thought you might want it back.
“I rounded your cash up to an even $100 so you could celebrate having your wallet back. Have fun,” the stranger wrote to him.
The stranger only signed the letter with his initials.
Shamatt was able to thank the man after tracking down his return address in Omaha.
